Tell us about your time serving in the military. What branch did you serve and how long did you serve?
I joined the Army when I was 25 years old. I wanted to join fresh out of high school but since my father was not aware of the benefits the Military could offer and suggested I attend college instead. I always had a fascination with the military since my days of ROTC in high school. I was proud to serve in the Army for 23 years. During my military career, I served in the Financial Management Branch.

Why is Veterans Day important to you?
Veterans Day is important to me because it is a day of reflection. Most people look at it as another day off, but it is a day to thank a veteran for all the sacrifices they have made for the country and the citizens. It is also a day of appreciation to service members. I love it when the community gives back to veterans.
